I have worked in the IT industry for the past eight years, I graduated from Brunel University with BEng in Computer System Engineering specialising in Bluetooth and logic design. With great enthusiasm and determination I succeed in the area of my expertise, my academic and professional experience has strengthened my team working, communication and organisational skills including my technical ability. Being highly motivated and with a logical mindset, this helps me learn new skills quickly and work under pressure and organising my time and resources efficiently. I required the skill of web designing, the use and maintenance of various operation systems and programs, with a number of other programming skills through working within the industry.

Within this roll I manage and maintain the University core application, giving me great understanding on how system applications work within a business. The role is allowing me to learn most area within a large IT system infrastructure. The overall system caters for 40,000 users giving a range of experience for a large organization. I am also developing a "Business Continuity Website" and a "Workstation Availability Report" system for the University allowing me to explain my web development skills.

The job has enhanced my telephone and communication skills. When I was unable to solve the problem over the phone I was required to go to the user's desk and continue my analysis from there, which improved my inter-personal skills. I was able to improve my knowledge of webpage development, learning CSS, JavaScript, php.NET and XML.

In addition to my technical skills I was also able to improve my inter-personal skills. This job was client based and I was required to deal with the end user's day to day problems and enquiries, including other software and system. Another responsibility I had to communicate with other technical teams from faculty's helpdesk and solving their problems.

I worked as a project manager within ITM for various organisations, leading teams of 2 to 8 engineers, I was contracted out to companies such as CB Richard Eills, Tescos, Vodafone, BskyB, Shell, Media Edge as well as other smaller companies. The job entailed office network rebuilds, IT roll-outs, hardware and software for new offices. My role also covered liaising with the various contractors and sub-contractors as well as suppliers and in house staff. The role required having good personal skills, dealing with client and internal & external teams.

Interests and Achievements

I am the director and founder of Show Me The Talent Ltd (www.smttuk.com). This company was formed to provide young people with an opportunity to fulfil their dreams and potential, to aid companies in recruiting the best talent from the available talent pool. My role includes all aspects of the business, including website design, marketing and business initiatives and recruitment. I reserved the award for best engineer of the year at West Thames College. I enjoy reading books with particular in the SAS genre of novels. I also have knowledge in DIY and have undertaken major home repair projects in the past.
